About the COMMUNITY GUIDELINES category

Welcome to The Nice Guy Algorithm.

This forum is meant to be useful, civil, curious, good-humoured, and worth coming back to.

The basic rule is simple:

Be useful. Be honest. Be decent.

We are here to talk about AI, creativity, work, writing, health, tools, life, ideas, frustrations, discoveries, and the strange new territory where human thinking and machine assistance meet.

Disagreement is welcome. Different opinions are welcome. Questions are welcome. Mistakes are expected.

What is not welcome:

  • Personal abuse
  • Bullying
  • Trolling
  • Scams
  • Spam
  • Deliberate disruption
  • Bigotry
  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Picking fights for entertainment

You do not have to be polished to post here. You do not have to be technical. You do not have to know all the jargon. You can be new, uncertain, curious, sceptical, excited, annoyed, or still figuring things out.

That is fine.

Just try to add something useful to the room.

When posting, please:

  • Choose the best category you can.
  • Give enough context so people understand what you mean.
  • Criticise ideas without attacking people.
  • Ask honest questions.
  • Share examples when they help.
  • Do not pretend to know what you do not know.
  • Do not use AI output to mislead people.
  • Do not post private information about other people without permission.

This community is built around a very human idea:

AI may be the tool, but the human still holds the steering wheel.

So bring your thoughts, your questions, your experiments, your worries, your discoveries, your jokes, your projects, and your good sense.

Come in, have a yarn, and…be nice!
